The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us, the less taste we shall have for the destruction of our race. –Rachel Carson
Native Trees in and near Downtown
This map indicates locations where you can find many of the trees depicted in this exhibition or different specimens of the same species. The two best locations for seeing diverse tree species are Point State Park and Allegheny Commons on the Northside. There are several pocket parks dotting downtown that contain trees, though many are not native. If you spot native trees we have missed, please let us know! The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy currently has an initiative to plant native trees downtown.
